Sophie Foster is back, bigger and better than ever!
Summary: Sophie Foster changed the game.
Now she’s facing impossible choices:
When to act.
When to trust.
When to let go.
Her friends are divided and scattered, and the Black Swan wants Sophie to focus on their projects. But her instincts are leading her somewhere else.
Stellarlune—and the mysterious Elysian—might be the key to everything. But finding truth in the Lost Cities always requires sacrifice. And as the Neverseen’s plans sharpen into terrifying focus, it appears that everyone has miscalculated. The Lost Cities’ greatest lie could destroy everything. And in the battle that follows, only one thing is certain: nothing will ever be the same. (Goodreads)
Characters: Sophie: in book 9 she starts to become more confident in herself. Her relationships are also a lot more complicated, especially in the romantic aspect. 😝
Keefe: again he plays a big role in the book. At first he is out of the picture, (you'll find out why once you read it) but then comes in clutch at the end, helping Sophie navigate the big changes.
Fitz: as Sophie and Fitz's relationship becomes more rocky, they must dive deeper into their cognate training and learn who they are to each other.
Similar Books: The Percy Jackson and Harry Potter series are both similar to Keeper of the Lost Cities because they are about magical worlds that are hidden from the view of the human world. Percy, Harry, and Sophie all find out that they aren't normal humans and that they actually have a home in a world where they must fight evil! If you liked either Percy Jackson or Harry Potter this is definitely the book for you!
Thoughts: I loved how, in contrast to the earlier books, Sophie starts to be more confident in herself and more willing to fight. This does cause conflict in her friend group but I think it is what the series needed! As always the book ended in a cliffhanger. And I might even say, the biggest one yet! This is both good and bad because there are more books coming!!!! Yaaay!!!! But we have to wait for it to come out. Boooooo. I will be counting down the days!
Should I Read This? Yes! This book was a great addition to the Keeper of the Lost Cities series and was just as good as all the others! If you haven't read books 1-8 I would definitely recommend starting at the begining! Enjoy!
